Mr. Sanjiv Khandelwal, managing director, Centerac India Pvt. Ltd, has introduced the new concept of E=MC2, wherein E=electronic penetration, M=mobile and C=consumer multiplier. This was introduced during his presentation on "e-selling" at the recently concluded India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2010.
The world is changing and new avenues of business are opening up. E-selling dealt with promotion of a company, building up sales, profibility, awareness and the easiest ways to do so using the internet.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Khandelwal said: "650 million people use mobile phones and more people access internet through their mobile phones than the computer. There are 8 million broadband connections and the percentage of smart phones increased to 8.3% in January 2010 as compared to 2.1 in January 2007. There is a projected growth of around 40 million broadband users in the next 3 years".
He also shared that 40% people already use value added services (VAS) and he concluded saying that "there's no separate world to e-commerce and the real world. It is the real world".
